Why Use the ROPHI Posture Cushion for Lower Back Pain? For two thirds of the day, your spine is active The discs compress and lose their fluid, which helps to lubricate the spine |

The lower discs carry more weight due to gravity and pressure and therefore lose more fluid than the ones higher up. The lumbar region is therefore more at risk to injury than upper areas causing lower back pain. At night we lie down and take the weight of our spine, the disca are able to recover |
| If, however the back has suffered an injury, any further pressure or strain will prevent the discs frm recovering. | ||||||||||||||||
| If injured, the spine needs to resort to it's correct alignment posture so that the natural healing process can begin | ||||||||||||||||
So .... What is the correct Position for Lying down? |
| The Answer is simple and natural - The Foetal Position | ||||||||||||||||
Lets look at the months leading to the birth of a child. In just 32 weeks the spine will grow 20 times. To protect it from being deformed the foetal position is maintained throughout. Even after birth, the baby will chose to return to this postion as the spine continues to grow a further 5 times. The ankles are crossed in line with the pelvis, the arms crossed in front of us. |

Therefore... It makes sense for us to lie in a foetal (or because of our bulk) semi-foetal position with our legs bent and our arms crossed in front of us. To align our spine and pelvis correctly, it is recommended that we place a cushion between our knees. However, normal cushions compact, cause perspiration and move about. So....... The 'ROPHI' cushion was invented
Wear it and Sleep in ComfortLie on your side with the cushion fitted to the inside of your knee. This aligns your pelvis and spine, taking the pressure of your back. The back muscles relax allowing you to get a good nights sleep. The cushion reduces soreness and perspiration between the knees. The stocking holds the cushion in place. The ROPHI cushion is manufactured under licence in the U.K to ISO 9002
