The Limb Cushion (L1 & L2) and
the Foot Cushion (F1) have been designed to provide high quality
comfort and protection for patients who spend long periods of time
in bed or chairs. The stocking holds the cushions in place.
When caring for patients with restricted
mobility, special care must be paid to relieving pressure exerted
by other body parts particularly the feet and ankles. Pillows are
often ineffectively used for this purpose. The cushions pictured
are designed to alleviate this problem and will remain 'in situ'
despite the restless movements often displayed by ill patients.
This cushion can also be used to protect
upper limbs.
Simple protection for the foot where
reduction of perspiration is important
Limb Cushion
For post operative patients (particularly
hip replacement). These cushions provide excellent positioning and
comfort. The medical stocking helps to maintain the position of
the cushions whilst also acting in the same way as orthopaedic hosiery.
The patient's heel is lifted free of the bed, eliminating the risk
of skin necrosis which may lead to decubitus ulcers. The cushions
can also be used as protection for bony prominences for patients
who are required to lie in the side-line position. The cushions
come in 18" (L2) and 22" (L1) lengths
